INVINCIBLE YOUTH (NEW SEASON UPDATE)



Invincible Youth (Korean: 청춘불패; romanized: cheong-chun-bul-pae) is a South Korean variety show that features 7 girls from top K-Pop idol groups wherein they experience how it is to live and survive in the rural Korea outdoors. The 7 Girls include Narsha of Brown Eyed Girls, Han Sunhwa of Secret, Hyuna of 4minute, Hyomin of T-ara, Sunny and Kwon Yuri of Girls' Generation, and Goo Hara of Kara.

On Friday, May 14, 2010, the PD of the show Kim Ho Sang announced that Sunny, Yuri, and Hyuna will be leaving the show due to scheduling conflicts with their respective groups' overseas promotions. Their final filming will take place on Wednesday, May 19th. Their replacements will be decided through private auditions with members of other K-pop girl groups, and will be revealed in early June. On May 30 was finally confirmed that After SchoolÂ’s Jooyeon, f(x)Â’s Victoria and Sori will become the three new members of G7 on Invincible Youth.

Season 2



KBS 2TV’s variety program, “Invincible Youth,” will return in fall of 2011. Chairman Producer (CP) Kim Ho Sang, who is planning the second season of "Invincible Youth" told Star News on August 31, “Season one was a farming variety and for season two, we are gearing towards a fishing variety.” Kim CP also added, “We’re currently looking into a fishing village on the west coast.” Kim CP also added, “We chose the fishing village as the setting for the second season to show a whole new side to the girl group members. I’m anticipating for the girl group members to adjust to the fishing village and also bring a whole new joy to viewers.” In regards to recruitment, Kim CP spoke up saying, “Like the first season, the show will comprise of seven members to create G7. After season one ended, a lot of girl groups entered the music scene as we’ll have a broad range to form a group from. Currently we are in the process of recruitment.” The second season is setting its goal to enter broadcasting as a replacement for the fall edition.

Following the numerous leaks for the past couple of hours, KBS has finally released the official press release revealing the new members of ‘Invincible Youth 2’!

Adding to the already-confirmed members of Jiyoung, Boom, Sunny, Hyoyeon, and Amber, the cast also includes miss AÂ’s Suzy, SISTARÂ’s Bora, RainbowÂ’s Woori, and JewelryÂ’s Yewon. It was also announced that Lee Soo Geun will be replacing the previously-announced Ji Hyun Woo as MC.

“Suzy and Jiyoung are popular both domestically and abroad, and we casted them with their fresh appeal as the ‘maknaes’ in mind,” revealed the producers for the upcoming season.

For SISTAR’s Bora and f(x)’s Amber, the producers are looking forward to their debuts as fixed cast members. “Their small appearances on reality shows were very charming. Also, they have much to show since they have never been part of a fixed cast. For Amber, it will be interesting to see how she adapts to a traditional Korean village culture.”

“Rainbow’s Woori has a four-dimensional character and a strong personality, and has shown the potential to rise as a Hallyu star with their popularity in Asia. Jewelry’s Yewon has shown outstanding talent and fearlessness for a rookie.” they said.

On the two SNSD members, the producers were looking forward to their variety talents. “Sunny was able to show her warmth and heart as Soonkyu on Season 1, and we hope she’ll be able to show the same warmth and laughter on Season 2. Hyoyeon was casted thanks to her popularity in Asia as well as Europe, as well as her unique charm.”
