Terbentuk 1997 di tengah keramaian dosa dan peristiwa di Kuta [Bali], Devildice yang dibentuk oleh Jerinx [gitar/vokal] dan Kuzz [bass] awalnya memakai nama Culture On Fire dan memilih menjadi band cover version Social Distortion, band punk old skool idola mereka. Dibantu oleh beberapa kawan yang mengisi posisi drum dan gitar, Culture On Fire rajin meramaikan acara-acara musik yang bersifat underground di Bali.

Kesibukan Jerinx yang juga drummer/penulis lagu di Superman Is Dead [SID] membuat Culture On Fire makin terproyeksi menjadi band yang 'agak kurang serius' dalam berkarir dan nyaman dengan status band cover version.

Tahun 2002, Jerinx menyadari ia punya banyak stok lagu yang tidak masuk dalam karakter SID namun bisa ia masukkan ke dalam karakter Culture On Fire yang lebih gelap. Ia pun memutuskan untuk lebih serius lagi menjalani proyek band keduanya ini. Setelah mengalami bongkar pasang personel dan perubahan nama menjadi Devildice, Jerinx dan kawan kawan akhirnya merilis mini album perdana Devildice 'In The Arms Of The Angels' tahun 2004 dengan biaya dan label sendiri.

Hingga kini [2009] Devildice yang diperkuat Jerinx, Kuzz, Cash [gitar], T.R [drum] dan Dr.F [trumpet] telah bermain di ratusan festival musik, acara amal, skate, surf, tattoos dan motor di stadion, pantai, lapangan, bar/club di Bali.
Devildice juga terlibat dalam beberapa proyek kampanye lingkungan, album kompilasi, skate video, surf video dan lain lain.

Dalam berkesenian, Devildice banyak dipengaruhi film-film gangster/mafia jaman dulu, kustom kulture dan eksotisme khas punk tropikal.

Berikut cerita singkat dibaliknya.

1. Army Of The Black Rose

Bercerita ttg dunia dari kacamata kaum nihilis. Dimana mereka merasa dunia ini haus darah, rakus dan kebenaran hanyalah manipulasi teori kebencian. Mereka kesepian. Sangat kesepian.

2. Land Of No Angels

Harapan untuk remaja-remaja broken home agar selalu ingat bahwa cinta ada dimana saja. Belajar melupakan dan memaafkan adalah krusial.

3. Diamonds Are Forever

Dibantu oleh Sari Nymphea pada vokal, Leo dan Kape Suicidal Sinatra pada gitar/kontra bass. Lagu ini terinsprasi oleh duet Cash-June Carter, tentang tak bertemunya dua perasaan yang abadi. Why? Simply coz hidup memang tak pernah sempurna.

4. Nuestro El Misterio

It's about secrets. The good ones. Hal-hal 'kotor, liar nan rahasia' yang kita lakukan bersama kekasih tercinta. Wild things that drives you insane and making you feel like a king for a day. Or night.

5. Never A Saint

Lagu lama DD yang masih relevan masuk di album ini karena struktur lagunya merupakan cetak biru arah musikal DD kedepannya. Tentang pengakuan jika kita memang -kadang- bukan malaikat.

6. True

Kilas balik dan introspeksi. Merayakan rasa sakit dari petualangan hidup, namun bangga dan bersyukur sudah bisa sejauh ini tanpa harus menjadi orang lain.

7. Mad Of This World

Again, dunia dari kacamata seorang nihilis. Lelah melihat tersingkirnya jiwa-jiwa tulus yang bekerja keras untuk dunia yang lebih baik, kalah oleh dinginnya dunia.

8. Love/Drugs

Escape reality, enter the La La Land.

9. Palace Of My Own Disgrace

Lagu terpanjang yang pernah saya tulis. Dibantu Hendra Fish (Telephone) pada gitar. Tentang penemuan identitas dan kesadaran baru yang dipahat oleh derasnya hujan dan sambaran petir dari masa lalu.

10. (Kiss Of The St.Villain) Black Moon Suicide

Ketika seseorang berada di level psikologis yang mendekati teori "percobaan bunuh diri". Setan tidak terlalu jauh dari saya ketika lagu ini ditulis. I still can smell his breath. Panas.

11. Rock & Roll City

Satu-satunya lagu riang yang saya tulis untuk Devildice. Ditulis tahun 2004 di Hotel Paragon - Jakarta, lagu ini mengingatkan saya akan malam-malam panas, penuh kejutan dan seringkali menjadi rahasia. "Malam-malam" itulah pencipta lagu ini sesungguhnya. Saya hanya menikmatinya. Dari "belakang"
